Seth Jacobson: Live/Work Displacement

After founding the Thai Kitchen food brand in 1989, and selling it in 2006 for $97 million to McCormick & Company, Inc. (NYSE:MKC), Jacobson went into real estate investment, purchasing many warehouses in Oakland.   He has been converting them into condos and market rate housing, displacing long term artists and tenants.  He has partnered with Bay Area evictor Danny Haber on some properties.
